Fashion’s Shiny New Things

Fashion “Month” ends this Wednesday as the Paris collections grind to a halt and all manner of blogger, journalist, photographer, stylist, publicist and celebrity head to their respective homes to absorb what just happened.

As the critics weigh in on the trends that took shape over the past four weeks (chiffon! stripes! flowers! 60’s mods!) I can’t help but be drawn to the more glossy and glimmering of the gowns and get-ups. Maybe it’s because they stand out from the thousands of looks sent down the runways and the fact that my inner child longs for fashion candy.

For whatever reason, I took a huge shine to the luminous trench coats and translucent lifesaver-colored PVC bags at Burberry Prorsum, the glossy metallic dresses Raf Simmons debuted for Christian Dior, and the shimmery slinky skirts from Viktor & Rolf.

If you ever feel like you’re in a fashion slump, take a look at these colorful collections and try to add some sparkle to your step, at least in your own eyes.
