BLANK (stare, blink) FRIDAY
Blank. Yep, that’s right. Nothing.
Both Jslow and I hosted Thankgivings at our respective new homes. Both Jslow and I are still digesting fat and juicy meals. Both Jslow’s and my email inboxes are still digesting fat and juicy Black Friday deals. Our bodies and computers are too tired and stuffed to add any sale this or that to our plates.
We’re full. We’re all full.
My drawers are bursting at the seams. My closet is bloated. They scream under piles of identical grey tank tops and fur trimmed everything, “no more!” We’re about to throw up!”
No matter how tempted we are for one more bite of warm and fluffy fashion, we are pushing ourselves back from the table, declaring, “we’re done”, and crawling over to the couch for a nap.
If you do have any room in your wallet, go out tomorrow and support your local boutiques as part of “Small Business Saturday.” Better to spend your money on something unique from a neighborhood business that contributes to the vibrancy and vitality of your town rather than something boring from a Big Box. This fabulous Timo Weiland vest from lovely local merchant Elizabeth Charles will surely get gobbled up by a lucky ravenous shopper with more room in her closet than mine has.
Happy Post Thanksgiving from Blank Stare, Blink.
