I Wear Whatever The Fuck I Want
Early this week a blog post by “Warning: Curves Ahead” appeared in my Facebook feed. It stopped me in my tracks.
Her post was written in response to an article she had read entitled, “24 Things Women Should Stop Wearing After Age 30,” written by Kallie Provencher for RantChic.com. Ms. Provencher warned against donning such things as “leopard print”, “graphic tees”, and “short dresses” because, “By this age, women should know it’s always better to leave something to the imagination”. Clearly she is a hater of women over 30 (good god, I don’t even want to know what she thinks of those of us over 40 or *gasp* 50 and 60) as she has also penned such cringe-worthy pieces as “30 Things Women Over 30 Shouldn’t Own” and “20 Pictures Women Over 30 Need To Stop Posting Online”.
But leave it to Warning, Curves Ahead to respond in the best way possible by publishing this inspirational, honest and fucking awesome piece entitled, “24 Things Women over 30 Should Wear”, which includes 24 fierce women over 30, and 40, and 50, and 60, and 70 breaking every “fashion rule” headed by a caption that answers that “24 Things Women over 30 Should Wear” with this one succinct, concrete and confident answer, “Whatever the Fuck I Want.”
I’ve said it before that the older I get, the more fewer fucks I give about what other people think, and it’s liberating as hell. So the next time you find yourself in your closet, pondering what to wear (or NOT to wear), read this post go for it.
And the next time you’re at your computer roaming the web, please check out Warning: Curves Ahead. It’s a wonderful blog about “vintage style for the modern dame”, who gave us permission to repost these photos and link to their piece.
Have a great weekend!

Loved the write up … You should totally wear what you want , age is just a number and should also restyle old clothes in your closet like I have started doing too….. this article taught me how ? http://www.sargamchoudhary.com/style-clothes-already/
Thank you so much for sharing this link; great ideas! I restyle a lot of my stuff using scissors!
And totally agree with you about age being a number – some days it’s harder than others. Thanks again for reading and taking the time to respond. Have a great day. xoxoxo
